Canada keeps the Olympic-paced momentum going with the 6th Annual Canadian Blast BBQ at SXSW on March 17, 2010, at Brush Square Park located right across from the Austin Convention Center. This year’s line-up includes the Born Ruffians (Ontario), You Say Party, We Say Die! (British Columbia), Hollerado (Ontario), Radio Radio (New Brunswick), Plants and Animals (Quebec) and Justin Rutledge teamed with The Beauties (Ontario) in a unique presentation on the centre stage. The event is expected to attract more than 4,000 delegates from around the world. A highlight of the annual SXSW Music and Media Conference, the Canadian Blast BBQ kicks off a multi-day extravaganza of events showcasing all the great music Canada has to offer. Canada House will be the center of this activity. Located at Upstairs at the Paradise at 6th and Trinity, the venue is in the right in the thick of SXSW action and features showcasing artists from every province and every musical style. Canada House will feature daytime industry showcases open to all SXSW badge-holders as well as nighttime official showcases for Canadian bands, open to SXSW badge-holders, wristband holders and the general public. more>>
CIMA is proud to once again support the 7th Annual International Marketplace (IMP) at Canadian Music Week, in partnership with the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada and CAAMA. The IMP will host incoming delegations from India this year, in tandem with CMW’s ‘Spotlight on India’, as well as a delegation from Australia. The IMP will organize dedicated pre-arranged matchmaking sessions for the incoming delegations to meet with registered Canadian CMW delegates. In addition to spotlights and panels, India, the UK and Australia will host informal networking receptions in the evenings at the IMP to extend networking opportunities for Canadian participants in attendance.

Canada Day in London: Call For Performance Applications
Canada Day London, the largest Canada Day celebration outside of Canada, is delighted to announce its fifth installment of Canada Day festivities in Trafalgar Square in Central London, UK. The event which will be held on Thursday July 1st, 2010 is organized by Rainmaker Global Business Development. We are proud to announce that Canadian Affair is this year’s title sponsor. This year, the Canada Day London Committee is collaborating with CIMA and Rainmaker Global Business Development to select the best Canadian talent across all spectrums to perform on the stage. Late applications will not be accepted.
